TOOLS
NEEDED
1. 7/16 Wrench or Socket
2. Pliers (Channel Locks Preferred)
3. Ty Wraps
4. Phillips Head Screw Driver
5. 5/32 Drill Bit
Notes:
A cordless driver with drill bits, sockets
and driver bits will speed up this whole
process and will cut over all time for
removal and installation almost in half. It
may be necessary to drill new holes to
reinstall a new top piece of lift frame or
complete lift frame due to the way that part
is manufactured. If you should have any
problems or questions please call Technical
Service at 1-800-624-6374.
Problem
1) Chair went
to lift but won’t descend, or chair went
to recline but won’t lift.
Solution:
If chair is stuck in the lift, Press the
down button; if stuck in the recline, Press
the up button. While pressing the
appropriate button, listen to hear if motor
is running.
Problem
2) Don’t hear the motor running.
Solution:
A) Check to see if chair is securely
plugged in.
B) See if outlet is activated by a wall
switch.
C) Try plugging chair into a different
outlet. (Sometimes the socket is worn and
will not handle the amps needed for
operation.)
D) Check wiring on both power cord for motor
and switch cord for breakage or fraying.
E) Plug new handwand into motor or into
extension then try for chair response.
F) If still no response, it is possible for
a bad capacitor on the Hubbel or Von Weis
motors or fuses on an Okin. Call technical
service for assistance!
Problem
3) Motor is running, but chair won’t
move or only partially moves.
Solution:
A) Inspect lift frame for
possible breakage.
B) Inspect push tube or gear casing for
breakage.
C) Gears may be stripped in gear casing in
Hubbel, Von Weis or Okin motor assembly.
D) Push tube may be stripped or on Okin,
possible broken fork head.
